So here I sit in Shindand, Afghanistan. I'm starting to not like it over here anymore. ;) It's been so long since I've updated this. Lemme try to fill you in. We left the hospital w/ Ella on oxygen in July of 2011 after 7 months in the NICU non-stop. She had open heart surgery that October and came off oxygen in November I think. We moved down to Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) in Jan 12. Life as usual until April 13 when our 2nd daughter Auden was born without complications. She's a real cutie. Did some Army stuff in there, Aviation Warrant Officer Advanced Course, HAMET training in Idaho, and an aircraft transfer mission from Washington to Kansas. Then we deployed to Kandahar in March 14.
That brings us up to present. Ella turns 4 in November. Auden will be two next April. I am in Shindand for another week or so, then I head back to Kandahar (KAF) for the remainder of the deployment, or so I think. I'm penciled in for the Instructor Pilot's Course (IPC) at Fort Rucker, Alabama on 29 Oct - 19 Jan. Not looking forward to three more months away from the family. =( But, it's fairly safe, we can call and skype more frequently, it's a major milestone for my career, and I'll get to come home for a week or so in the middle of the training for xmas. That'll be nice.
Well, off to fly. Trying to build some goggle hours up here before getting back to KAF. That's a whole nother story.
