FI: Wise

I don't know what the problem is, but I can't post my 50x50, 72dpi, Jpeg image on the IF website. After about 15 tries, I'm giving up.

Edit: I cheated. I used my thumb from last week and just linked it here. I don't know why that one works, but this one doesn't.

Just made it up. Supposed to look like after a rain storm moved out. I'm not very happy with the sign, but oh well. I like the picture overall I think.

Pumpkin Head

I'm in the Halloween spirit this year. I'm usually not. Ouy, if I'm into Halloween, I just might go crazy over Christmas. ;) Anyway, here's a digital one I did w/ this freeware program called rendera. It's a very simple program with only a few features, but that's all you really need to do these types of little sketches.

That was what the timer read when I stopped meditation a few minutes ago. My legs are still getting the blood back into them. Tried to stay focused on my breathing, and I did for a while, but caught myself wondering about interconnectedness, and karma a few times. I feel pretty good.

1st time this year.

Wow,
Finally, with the suggestion of my wife, I began meditation again. Tonight I did it for 15 minutes. Thought that would be a bit long for having not done any in so long, but it felt very very good. I was actually not ready to stop when my watch went off. However, it's not so easy just to keep going. My watch beeps annoyingly for about 15 times before it gives up trying to get your attention. So I went ahead and stopped.
Somewhere in there I noticed I was coming out of a really relaxed state. I thought, here it comes, things are about to get very uncomfortable. Then I thought, this will pass before long, no need to get wrapped around it. Everything passes. The pain in your legs, the state of relaxation, the struggles with dunker, eventually...even a lifetime passes. And so, here I sit. Ready for bed. =)

Sunset

Painter X Sunset Fantasy.
Been doing actual hard copy stuff lately. I'll have to take some pictures and post them on here.

The impression that I get.

I've been interested in pastels, and impressionistic painting lately. I want to push my artwork in that direction. I'm too impatient with art though. I want to just slap down some stuff and have it be finished in one sitting. I think that's what draws me to impressionism hehee. But it's not done that way. Even impressionism is usually done slowly and carefully. I think I'd like to actually sell some art eventually.

Etretat Cows

These cows were enjoying the sun in Etretat France. They have a great view from atop the cliffs behind the viewer in the picture. These are "Normandy" cows, and supposedly produce some sort of unique milk.

This is my second one today! Wahoo! Saw this lady in a magazine and thought she looked interesting, and nice too. =)

10 minute beach

In an effort to be more loose and worry less about detail, I painted this beach from my imagination, in about 10 minutes.

Thought I'd try a portrait.
This looks okay to start. Not sure if I want to finish it though. I played w/ it for a long time, but can't seem to get it right. I think the general shape of the head/face is off. Too wide. Maybe a different portrait later.

I tend to get some lame comments on Wetcanvas. Better than none at all I guess. I'm going to post on LJ as well now. Will continue to update here also.

Failed my first try at dunker today. Makes you feel like crap. I get retrained at 1530. We'll see how it goes. Check out this fisher...

This is from one of my pictures I took in Rome. The girl had a partner, and they'd sit still until someone dropped some change in their bucket. They would then play music and dance for about 1 minute, then freeze again until someone else put money in. I liked the white face and one stocking.
